We are sad to report two losses to the world or Doctor Who in recent months:
Elisabeth Sladen, best known for her role as Sarah Jane Smith in Doctor Who and CBBC’s The Sarah Jane Adventures, passed away April 19, 2011. She was 63. Lis had been suffering from cancer. She leaves behind a husband, actor Brian Miller, and her daughter, Sadie.
Lis first appeared as Sarah Jane in Doctor Who in 1973 alongside the Third Doctor Jon Pertwee and stayed for three and half seasons working alongside Jon and the Fourth Doctor Tom Baker. She returned to the role on numerous occasions over the years and, in 2007, was given her own spin-off series on CBBC — The Sarah Jane Adventures — where she would appear alongside new Doctors David Tennant and Matt Smith.
Nicholas Courtney, known for his role as The Brigadier in Doctor Who, died February 25, 2011 after a lengthy battle with cancer, at the age of 81. Courtney starred in more than 100 Doctor Who episodes as Brigadier Alistair Lethbridge-Stewart and played opposite five Doctors. He had also suffered a stroke in recent years, which had affected his ability to reprise the role.

Some of you may also remember our Samoyed girl Flash (AKC/CKC Ch. UKC GrCh. SFX Flashback, HCT, CGC), who had developed bone cancer and had a front leg amputated. In December 2010 She developed another, more agressive cancer. Dec. 28 we chose to release her in such a way that she could peacefully and painlessly slip away, secure in our company, so our last memories would be of her lying comfortably at our feet, fearlessly transitioning to the next plane of existence. Dogs do not fear death, and they live in the moment. Flash had many, many wonderful moments…
The first phase of programming is complete and we are looking forward to more folks participating in the second phase of signup, which will run until April 30th. You can join any panel that is already sat (with exception of workshops), pick a panel from the Topics list, or even create a brand-new panel. As you can see we’ve got a lot of fascinating topics already but need folks to sit on them.
Any questions, please email us at the address below. Thanks very much!

Gordon has been inspired to write a parody of Star Trek 11 (i.e. reboot) with music from Grease!
Volunteers are needed for all roles, as well as musical accompanyment and stage ninjas.
As it is a musical, most parts involve singing, though some more than others.
We need a CHORUS of at least 3 people, who appear as various characters at various times (Vulcans, Cadets, Romulans, etc.) and back up the other cast members.
Cast:

Spock (his younger self)
Nero
Spock 1 (his older self)
Cadet Uhura
Capt. Christopher Pike
Cadet McCoy
Cadet Sulu
Scotty
Assistance with costuming (Starfleet movie uniform shirts, Vulcan robes, etc.) is also welcomed. So if you can lend such things or can make such things quickly and cheaply, we want to hear from you!
