Candace Pulleine passed June 15, 2012. She was a fanzine publisher and writer. She also helped establish RevelCon, and was one of the editors and publishers for Revelcon Press. Her ‘zines won Fan Q, STIFfies and Star Awards. She helped run Friends of Fandom and also was a concom member for both MysteryCon and CONTEX. (from Deb Walsh) I received an e-mail from a close friend of Dian’s letting me and many other people know that Dian has passed away this weekend. She’d been ill for some time, and ultimately the decision was made to put her in hospice, where she passed this weekend. If you went to early MW*Cs and remember a petite blonde wearing a blue and green tunic and yellow shorts, or something with the Man from Atlantis logo on it, you remember Dian. She was a pint-sized woman with enormous heart and passion. She wanted to soar into space and dive to the deepest depths of the oceans. For that reason, she joined the Navy in the early ’80s. She wrote Man from Atlantis fiction and articles for Warped Space, Clipper Trade Ship, and Felgercarb. I remember she had a massive MFA novel reminiscent of Stranger in a Strange Land that she worked on sporadically. I’d been out of touch with Dian for about 30 years, and had only just recently located her on LinkedIn. We’d connected, but we never really *connected* – no real exchanges, just my initial outreach to her, her acceptance of my link request, and an acknowledgement that it was because of our shared love of Man from Atlantis (and Patrick Duffy). Because of that connection, her friend included me in the update. Apparently when asked recently if there was anything she needed or wanted, she told her best friend, “Patrick Duffy.” A fan to the end
